117 jobseekers taking part in a range of Reed in Partnership employability programmes attended a jobs fair hosted by the Kings Cross office on Thursday 31 August.

Employers Dee Set, Shake Shack, Café Nero and Pinnacle People attended the day-long event at Reed in Partnership's office in Caledonian Road to meet programme participants and conduct job interviews for vacancies including facilities management, store merchandiser and barista roles.

So far, the day has already generated five job starts and 23 second stage interviews. All Members who took part in interviews on the day received detailed feedback from the employers.

Steve Kershaw, Merchandiser from employer Dee Set, said:

"I'm doing the same role as the people I'm interviewing today. The reason why I'm doing the interviews is because I know the job role inside out, so if any candidate has a question to ask, I can answer it. It makes it easier for the candidates.

"Today has been brilliant. I've actually seen 16 people today, and out of that ten people are more than suitable, and happy to join Dee Set. I have set them up with inductions on Monday - they are all being offered a job!

"It's a unique job that can be sometimes hard to actually fill, so these ten people have made me very happy!

"The people who have organised this today have been excellent. Danny's been so well organised, quite cool, quite calm - originally I was only given 10-15 minutes to do the interview, but I wanted to do the interviews thoroughly as I would normally do them in normal circumstances; so they've run over, but he's kept all the candidates quite calm, he's such a good calming influence. He has been an excellent help to me today."

Sarah Foley from employer Caffé Nero said:

"Today has been really good and it's been nice to meet so many different kinds of people.

"I saw about 40 people today. I've been recruiting for full time baristas - 80% of our store managers start out as baristas so that's why we recruit at entry level.

"I've met quite a few potential people, and there are about three or four who I'm quite sure will do well in the next stage which will be a trial shift. Today has definitely been useful."
