Young Careers helped bring together employers and students at Alec Reed Academy for an event to assist giving students an insight into a range of careers available for their future.

Many employers were there to express their experiences of the working world. The Army, The Navy, Fred Perry & Marks & Spencer's were amongst those shedding light on the different types of careers and pathways students can take once they leave education.

Pupils of the academy had the opportunity in groups to have one on one talks with all of the employers to ensure they get as much information as they needed to feel more confident about their future. The student's had already prepared a number of questions they wanted to ask each employer so they could leave the event feeling more knowledgeable about a variety of professions.

The students found the event extremely beneficial, they said:

"I enjoyed it because I got a lot of tips like how to write my CV and how to make good impression"

"It was beneficial and showed us what the world is like when we leave school"
