Call for Expressions of Interest - Young Londoners Fund

Reed in Partnership is seeking Expressions of Interest from providers wishing to support delivery of a three year schools-based programme of support for young people aged 13-18. The programme as a whole will focus on disengaged young people at risk of becoming NEET, with subcontracted provision focusing on young people who are involved or at risk of becoming involved in criminal activity. The programme will be delivered in selected schools within North and North East London, identified by Reed in Partnership.

The Young Londoners Fund is a Greater London Authority grant funding opportunity, with a total funding pot of £30m, with individual projects not exceeding £1.5m. Reed in Partnership will be submitting an application to deliver a programme under this financial threshold, and will confirm the sum being applied for at the next stage of the EOI process.

Aims of the programme

The primary aim of the subcontracted provision is to deter young people at risk of becoming involved in criminal activity from choosing this life path. Secondary aims include supporting the young person to sustain in education, and motivating them to achieve their potential in learning, future employment and life, through widening their horizons and developing their confidence, resilience and communication skills.

Delivery elements

The selected provider will be expected to deliver the following:

  • Targeted provision to around 1/3 of the total number of young people engaged on the programme, who are identified as being involved in or at risk of criminal activity by the school
  • Provision will total 8-10 hours per young person over three school terms, and will be delivered during school hours, e.g. during free periods or PSHE. This will comprise one term of more intensive activity, followed by two terms of support to sustain positive outcomes
  • Provision can be delivered in a 1:1 or group basis, as proposed by the provider
  • The provider should propose their own curriculum of support, designed to achieve the programme outcomes of deterring young people from becoming involved in crime, sustaining in education
  • The provision will be delivered in schools identified and engaged by Reed in Partnership

Timescales

Submission date for our application for grant funding is the 6th of July
The programme goes live in January 2019
