What works for people

14 Oct 2026

We're pleased to launch our latest report, which highlights how placing lived experience at the centre of service design and evaluation can help health and care systems develop more effective interventions that support long-term behaviour change and improved health outcomes.

The report explores what people with experience of weight management services say matters most when designing and improving programmes. The groups we worked with highlighted four priorities that weight management services should consider in order to best meet the needs of those using the service.

As NHS England and commissioners increasingly recognise that people with lived experience bring unique insights into where services can be improved, our report reinforces the growing emphasis on co-production across health and care systems.
