Providing fair and equitable testing experiences for all candidates

This week, our Divisional Director for Reed Assessment, Simon Mitchell, attended the 58th CIECA Congress in Dresden. The congress is the industry-leading event for international exchange on driver training, driving license testing and other measures to increase road safety.

Simon spoke at the Members’ Forum, sharing more about the work we are undertaking to ensure assessment candidates receive a fair and equitable testing experience.

He highlighted some of the key challenges facing awarding bodies today, including:

• The increasing sophistication of malpractice and fraud
• Growing reputational, legal and operational risks
• The critical importance of maintaining candidate confidence through trust in the system

Simon highlighted our 'defence in depth' security policy which, at its core, means recognising that no single security control is sufficient. Instead, we apply multiple and layered safeguards across technology, processes and people - all whilst ensuring our security processes are balanced with accessibility and fairness for every candidate.
