Youth Employment Week

6 Jul 2026

This week is Youth Employment Week, an annual UK-wide campaign organised by Youth Employment UK to raise awareness of youth employment issues and promote opportunities for young people.

More than one million young people across the UK are not in education, employment or training (NEET). There are huge challenges facing our young people, and finding effective ideas and solutions to support their successful transition into adulthood should be a national mission for all.

Reed in Partnership is committed to creating meaningful, life-enhancing opportunities for young people, helping them to build the confidence, skills and networks they need to shape their future.

Working in partnership with government, education and employers, we deliver services that help break down barriers and open up access to best in class careers education and real-world experience.

We have delivered the Central London Careers Hub service since 2021, helping careers educators and employers to provide excellent careers education to young people attending more than 95% of Central London’s schools and colleges.

Commissioned by The Careers & Enterprise Company and the Greater London Authority, the service works with over 250 education settings to enhance careers education and connect young people with future pathways.

This year, we were asked to deliver the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Jobs Guarantee in Hertfordshire and Essex. The service provides young people aged 18-21 who have been on Universal Credit & looking for work for 18 months with a fully subsidised, six-month paid job. These opportunities will be vital for developing their experience and skills.

We are a proud member of Youth Employment UK, the national body for youth employment, and are committed to contributing to stronger pathways that help young people enter and progress into employment. Whether through work, progressing to further education or taking a vocational training route, we believe that all routes into work for young people should be worthwhile and accessible, with the right support easily available when challenges arise.
