Work Routes launches

Representatives from employment support organisations in Essex came together last week for the official launch of Work Routes in the South East - our new service that will support thousands of local unemployed jobseekers into work.

Work Routes offers people free, one-to-one employment support - from in-house skills training and interview practice, to financial assistance with child care and travel.

Work Routes is for people who are experiencing difficulties in entering employment due to reasons such as disability, health concerns, lone parenthood and lack of qualifications.

It will support more than 5,100 unemployed people in the South East over the next three years from Reed in Partnership’s offices in Basildon, Chelmsford and Colchester.

The service is being provided in partnership with our local partners, Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) in Kent and Advanced Personnel Management (APM) in East Sussex.

Last week’s event was the opportunity for multiple organisations to come together and learn how they can refer people on to the service and the subsequent participant journey.

Allison Wells, Reed in Partnership’s Operations Manager in the South East, said:

“The event today was absolutely amazing, and everyone was networking.”

“It really opened up conversations across partners and enabled us to show how diverse our partners are and how bespoke our delivery is.”

As well as helping people into employment, Work Routes continues to support participants even once they have secured a job. Each participant is also given exclusive access to a free health and wellbeing service, designed to support them in other areas of life, such as diet, health, lifestyle and anxiety.
