Boosting Carol's confidence
12 Mar 2018
Carol, 52, had been a carer for her mother, who had dementia. After caring for her, Carol lacked confidence and was really unsure about what to do next in life.
Her local Work Routes team in Stevenage were able to lend her a helping hand when she decided to look at her work options. They helped her to access a free training course in hospitality, assisted her with her job search, helped her to develop IT skills, and conducted mock interviews.
Since accessing Work Routes, Carol’s confidence has really improved and she is feeling much more independent - and she now has a job at a local pub/restaurant.
Carol said:
“The Work Routes service is absolutely brilliant.”
“You would sit down at the computer with me to help me find work. This assistance encouraged me to look for work, as I had no idea where to start with the process.
“It has finally got me a job and got me out the house - I now have something to look forward to.”
