Better Working Futures North East celebrates five years

17 Jan 2023

Today our Better Working Futures service in the North East celebrates its fifth birthday!

In 2018, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) commissioned Better Working Futures – our name for the Work and Health Programme – to support people who face additional barriers to finding work.

This week, our Better Working Futures teams have been celebrating five years of delivery with events across the North East, reflecting on the service’s impact to date, and hearing directly from participants about the positive effect the service has had on their lives.

Programme Director, Sarah Loveday-Powell, said:

“We couldn’t have achieved the great results that we have without the support from our network of employers, signposting organisations, and Jobcentre Plus.

“We now have a fantastic opportunity to continue delivering to more participants for longer.”
