Celebrating 350,000 people into work

15 Oct 2025

Reed in Partnership is proud to celebrate a big milestone: 350,000 people have now started working with our support.

Since 1998, we’ve been a trusted provider of public services, including a number of national and local employability programmes that have helped jobseekers overcome their barriers to finding sustainable employment.

We understand that the journey into employment isn’t always straightforward. Many of the people we support face complex and multiple challenges, from health conditions and caring responsibilities to long-term unemployment or a lack of confidence and skills. Our personalised approach ensures that every participant receives tailored support, informed by their own ambitions, circumstances and local opportunities.

Breaking down barriers

Our services are designed to address the diverse challenges faced by unemployed and economically inactive jobseekers. We combine one-to-one guidance with access to in-house and external training, health and wellbeing support and financial assistance for essentials like travel and interview attire. We also provide ongoing in-work support to help individuals thrive in their new roles.

As a Disability Confident Leader, we work closely with employers to make reasonable adjustments and ensure work is accessible to all. Our community-based infrastructure enables hyper-local delivery, embedded within the areas we serve, and supported by a network of specialist partners.

The power of partnership

Partnership is at the heart of everything we do. We collaborate with local VCSEs, health and skills providers and employers to deliver integrated, person-centred support. One example is our long-standing relationship with Anxious Minds, a multi-award-winning mental health charity supporting jobseekers across the North East. Their CEO, Edward Dean, said:

“For several years, we have proudly partnered with Reed in Partnership, delivering high-quality counselling and mental health support to individuals returning to work.

“By working together, we can reach and support more people than ever before  and every penny we raise goes directly back into vital community projects.”

Working with employers

We’ve partnered with over 25,000 recruiting businesses, with 96% saying they would use our services again. Our Employer Services team works across priority sectors to secure local vacancies and create inclusive hiring opportunities. One of our valued partners, Mitie, shares our commitment to social value. Helen Longfils, Group Director of Social Value at Mitie, said:

“Reed in Partnership’s commitment to working with Mitie to deliver employability initiatives and create inclusive hiring opportunities has been instrumental in driving real, positive change for job candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“It’s been a truly collaborative partnership, built on shared values and a mutual focus on empowering individuals and finding opportunities to change lives through skills and employment. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together and excited to continue working with Reed in Partnership to build on our track record of creating meaningful, lasting social value into the future.”

People’s stories

Every person who has found work with the support of a Reed in Partnership service has their own story to tell. Like Chakra, who secured a new role in security after our Restart Scheme service provided English language support to help him obtain a Security Industry Authority (SIA) certificate.

Or Ophelie, who joined our Better Working Futures service in South London for support in kickstarting her career again after taking time out to raise her family. Or Garry, who was worried that being over 50 would limit the types of jobs he could get, and joined our Better Working Futures service in the North East after a long period or unemployment.
