Employer Spotlight - SBFM
17 Apr 2025
At Reed in Partnership we take pride in partnering with a wide range of employers to provide unemployed jobseekers who use our funded employability services with access to good local job opportunities. As a Disability Confident Leader, we are also committed to collaborating with organisations who align with our mission to champion inclusion and take action to improve how they recruit and retain people with disabilities and health conditions.
One of our employer partners is SBFM, a facilities management company in the UK and Ireland. Since we started working together in December 2023, we have actively supported SBFM with their ongoing recruitment needs and have successfully filled over 100 job roles for them.
SBFM is also a Disability Confident business that is committed to improving access to the world of work for people living with disabilities. One of the ways they have achieved this is through Evolve, their industry-leading initiative that provides sustainable employment opportunities for people from disadvantaged groups by providing access to development and progression opportunities.
Over the course of our partnership we have supported jobseekers with their applications for SBFM's vacancies and are now one of the company’s main sources of candidates. Jobseekers accessing our employability services are supported from their initial applications through to arranging online inductions and are led through our tailored taster sessions so that they understand the expectations of the roles they are applying for.
Shamali Heiyantuduwa, Reed in Partnership’s Recruitment Manager for our DWP Restart Scheme service, commented: “Our team works closely with SBFM consultants to streamline online inductions and fast-track our participants into their job vacancies. By maintaining a dedicated pool of potential candidates from the Restart Scheme, SBFM prioritise vacancies for jobseekers who may have previously encountered barriers to employment, ensuring greater access to opportunities.”
Jamie Canter, Head of Learning and Inclusion at SBFM, shared: "At SBFM, our partnership with Reed in Partnership enables us to recruit talented candidates from diverse backgrounds, significantly impacting our Evolve initiative. Through collaboration, we've streamlined processes to ensure more successful placements. Strong collaboration between Reed in Partnership’s Recruitment Managers and SBFM recruiters ensures every candidate has a positive experience throughout."
SBFM understands the importance of social value in recruitment and employment practices and have recently signed the 2024 Social Recruitment Covenant to reinforce its commitment to creating a more inclusive workforce. Reed in Partnership is proud to partner with organisations who promote social mobility by providing meaningful opportunities for individuals facing barriers into employment.
Reed in Partnership has worked with more than 25,000 recruiting businesses. 96% of the employers we’ve worked with said they would use our recruitment services again. As our employability services are government-funded, our recruitment is fully funded and cost free.
