Supporting people with childcare

Earlier this year the Government announced a significant expansion in free childcare support. These changes are being introduced gradually over 2024 and 2025. By September 2025, most working families of any child aged nine months to four years will be eligible for 30 hours a week of term-time free childcare.

We have put together a guide that covers these forthcoming changes and more, to support advisers to help participants access more of the financial assistance that is currently available. For example, all parents of three- and four-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours a week of free childcare whether their parents are working or not. There is also financial help for childcare available through Universal Credit. By increasing take-up of this support we can support more parents into sustainable employment.
